Halle Berry has a taste for the action-spy flick, having recently teamed up with John Wick for Parabellum, been part of Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman franchise, and established icon status as Jinx in 2002 Bond movie Die Another Day, the Oscar-winning actor has now signed on to appear opposite Mark Wahlberg in Netflix’s ‘blue collar Bond’ film Our Man From Jersey.
The move solidifies her burgeoning relationship with the streaming giants, who recently acquired Bruised, her mixed martial-arts directorial debut that premiered at TIFF last year.
Little is known about her role in Our Man from Jersey, which is being written by Safe House and Designated Survivor creator David Guggenheim and is based on an idea from Wahlberg’s producing partner Stephen Levinson.
Netflix reportedly paid seven figures to buy the pitch from its star, money they must feel is well-spent considering the success of Spenser Confidential, which got a critical kicking when released in 2020, but racked up over 85 million account views.
