Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have announced the voice cast of the upcoming sequel to the 2016 animated smash hit The Secret Life of Pets 2.
Patton Oswalt will take over the role of lead dog Max, replacing C.K. who voiced the character in the first film before becoming embroiled in a sexual misconduct scandal last year. Meanwhile, Harrison Ford has also been cast in what will be his first ever voice role in a studio animated family film.
Kevin Hart, Jenny Slate, Eric Stonestreet, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress and Bobby Moynihan will all reprise their roles from the original film, while Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip), Nick Kroll (Sing) and Pete Holmes (Crashing) will voice new characters.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 is once again directed by Despicable Me’s Chris Renaud, from a script by Minions scribe Brian Lynch. The film is set for release on June 7th 2019.
