Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells launches on Android and iOS

September 24, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Zynga has today announced the release of their magical match-3 mobile game Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells on Android and iOS devices, as well as Amazon Kindle and Facebook.  The game is free to download and brings all the magic from the films straight to players in puzzle form.

In Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells players are challenged to solve a Match-3 puzzle adventure that brings the spells, magic and characters of the Harry Potter universe to life.  Players will follow a mobile retelling of Harry’s journey through the Wizarding World backed with the soundtrack and voiceover recordings from the original Harry Potter films.

As players advance they will earn spells and power-ups that will help solve the puzzles and between levels they will be treated to iconic moments from the story, including Harry’s first journey to Hogwarts and Hagrid’s magical beasts.  Players will also earn experience points that will enable them to level up their character’s skills.  By completing daily events, players can also earn powerful rewards.

For those who would like a bit of human company on their magical adventure, players can join or form clubs with others to socialise, collaborate on puzzle strategies, share lives and compete for prizes in exclusive Club Events.

“When the Harry Potter series first came to theatres, it was one of those rare moments when everyone was reading the same book, talking about the same film and coming together around a shared experience,” said Yaron Leyvand, Senior Vice President of Games at Zynga. “ Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells honours fans’ connection to the series with a mobile game infused with the standout moments and delightful Wizarding World flourishes that have captivated a global following. The feedback from soft-launch has been outstanding, and we can’t wait for fans around the world to play.”

“Mobile games have never been more popular or more important to people than they are right now. People are playing games for entertainment, relaxation, and as an accessible source of comfort and connection,” said Bernard Kim, President of Publishing at Zynga. “With Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells , fans will immerse themselves in the magic, puzzles, and wonder of the series and create Clubs to collaborate and connect with others fans of Wizarding World.”

Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells is available now on Android and iOS and for the next 7 days those who download the game will receive the Welcome Bundle, which includes in-game currency, extra lives and special Quidditch Goggles.
