Hasbro have announced that they will be working alongside Oculus to bring their family favourite games to people with Oculus Go. For the first time players will be able to have a virtual reality experience of Boggle, Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly. These games will be available in the Oculus Store.
The release of these Hasbro games comes as part of a major new update for Oculus Rooms, the go to app for enjoying social activities with friends in VR. The first game to release will be Boggle, the classic 3 minute word search game, with Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly coming later in the year. All games will allow Oculus Go users to play games head-to-head with friends in Oculus Rooms in fully customisable environments.
“Gaming is a major strategic differentiator for our company and as gaming platforms and audiences continue to expand globally we are excited to work with Oculus to bring our beloved brands to new audiences in VR,” said Mark Blecher, SVP Digital Gaming & Corporate Development at Hasbro. “Our consumers are technologically savvy and we strive to provide them with products that fit their lifestyle, which includes, engaging content, enhanced play experiences and digital interaction. Bringing Hasbro Gaming experiences to the virtual world was a logical next step in this evolution. We can’t wait to see how much fun people will have playing Boggle in VR!”
Boggle will arrive on Oculus Rooms this June with Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly arriving later in the year.
