The Chosen One is returning to the galaxy far, far away once more, with Hayden Christensen set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker for the second season of Lucasfilm’s Disney+ series Star Wars: Ahsoka.
The news was revealed during the Ahsoka panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, with Christensen joined on stage by Ahsoka Tano herself Rosario Dawson, along with showrunner and Lucasfilm CCO Dave Filoni (who’s having a busy weekend after announcing his new Darth Maul animated series). No indication was given as to how Anakin might factor into the second season, be it Force Ghost, Clone Wars flashbacks, or a combination of both as we saw in season one.

As well as confirming Christensen’s return alongside Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Hera Syndulla), Eman Esfandi (Ezra Bridger), Ivanna Sakhno (Shin Hati), David Tennant (Huyang) and Lars Mikkelsen (Grand Admiral Thrawn) will all be back, with the latter leading his forces into a “head to head” battle with the iconic Admiral Ackbar.
Meanwhile, we also got confirmation that Game of Thrones’ Rory McCann is taking over the role of Baylan Skoll from the late Ray Stevenson, with a first look at McCann’s fallen Jedi shared with fans in attendance.
