Hayden Panettiere loves a scary good time, and she’s joined another horror-related project as Deadline reports Panettiere will star in A Breed Apart, a new version/reimagining of Wes Craven’s cult 2006 picture The Breed. Who Panettiere will play exactly has yet to be disclosed.
The actress joins Joey Bragg, Troy Gentile, Riele Downs, and Page Kennedy in the cast, as well as Fall stars Virginia Gardner and Grace Caroline Currey, who were first to be attached. Exact details have been difficult to determine, but this new film is said to be more of a sequel set after the events of the first film. Griff and Nathan Furst are directing and producing A Breed Apart.
The plot for A Breed Apart follows “a pack of dogs escape during the making of a fictional The Breed 2 movie during filming on a remote island. Years later, a group of YouTubers are drawn to the island to try and find the canines in a project they hope goes viral, which is the brainchild of influencer Vince Venture, who is played by Bragg. The reality is that they face a fight for survival, and each of the influencers must use their unique skills to stay alive.”
A Breed Apart is set for a 2025 release.
