Having shut down production on all of its series a couple of weeks ago, WarnerMedia has decided to delay filming on HBO’s hit series Succession and Barry, both of which were in the midst of pre-production before the shut downs.
Due to their pre-production status, the two series were never officially shut down and placed under evaluation until such time when the production hiatus would be lifted.
However, because of the escalating health crisis, HBO has now formally shut down pre-production and pushed their start dates to an unspecified later date. Despite this, though, HBO said the writing for the series will continue as writers work from home.
“We are looking forward to resuming preproduction when it is safe and healthy for everyone working on our shows to do so,” HBO said. “Where possible, our writers are continuing to write remotely.”
Succession stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Matthew Macfadyen and Nicholas Braun as a dysfunctional family running an American multi-media empire while Barry stars Bill Hader as a hitman looking to start a new life as an actor in LA.
