Last month it was announced that Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) has been cast in The Outsider, a HBO TV adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name, and now comes word that the show has cast a number of series regulars and recurring guest stars.
Set to join Mendelsohn as regulars are Cynthia Erivo (Bad Times at the El Royale), Bill Camp (The Looming Tower), Mare Winningham (George Wallace), Paddy Considine (The Ferryman), Julianne Nicholson (Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders), Yul Vázquez (I Am the Night), Jeremy Bobb (The Knick) and Marc Menchaca (Ozark), while Hettienne Park (Hannibal) and Michael Esper (Trust) have landed recurring roles.
The Outsider follows a seemingly straightforward investigation into the gruesome murder of a local boy, which leads a seasoned cop and an unorthodox investigator to question everything they believe to be real, as an insidious supernatural force edges its way into the case.
The series has been created by Richard Price (The Night Of), who is executive producing alongside Jack Bender (Mr. Mercedes) and Jason Bateman (Ozark). Bateman will also take on directing duties on the first two episodes.
