Having helmed the pilot episode of The CW’s Superman & Lois, director Lee Toland Krieger is set to return to the DC Universe to direct the first two episodes of HBO Max’s Green Lantern series.
Krieger’s past credits include the feature films Celeste and Jesse Forever and The Age of Adaline, while in recent years he’s focussed on the small screen directing episodes of Riverdale, You, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Deadly Class, Prodigal Son and Shadow and Bone.
Seth Grahame-Smith is serving as showrunner on Green Lantern, which has cast Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story) as Guy Gardner and Jeremy Irvine (Treadstone) as Alan Scott. The official synopsis reads:
“Green Lantern reinvents the classic DC property through a story spanning decades and galaxies, beginning on Earth in 1941 with the very first Green Lantern, secretly gay FBI agent Alan Scott, and 1984, with cocky alpha male Guy Gardner and half-alien Bree Jarta. They’ll be joined by a multitude of other Lanterns — from comic book favorites to never-before-seen heroes.”
