HBO’s Stephen King adaptation The Outsider gets a trailer and poster

December 5, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

HBO has released a new poster and trailer for the upcoming thriller The Outsider which reveals the series is set to premiere on January 12th. Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, it follows Detective Ralph Anderson (Ben Mendelsohn) as he investigates, with the help of the unorthodox PI Holly Gibney (Cynthia Erivo), the horrifying murder of an 11-year-old boy and the unexplainable circumstances surrounding the man (Jason Bateman) accused of his murder; take a look here…

The 10-episode series follows police detective Ralph Anderson (Ben Mendelsohn), as he sets out to investigate the mutilated body of 11-year-old Frankie Peterson found in the Georgia woods. The mysterious circumstances surrounding this horrifying crime leads Ralph, still grieving the recent death of his own son, to bring in unorthodox private investigator Holly Gibney (Cynthia Erivo), whose uncanny abilities he hopes will help explain the unexplainable.

The Outsider features a cast that also includes Bill Camp, Mare Winningham, Paddy Considine, Julianne Nicholson, Yul Vázquez, Jeremy Bobb, and Marc Menchaca.
