Head into combat in ancient China as Dynasty Warriors: Origins arrives on PC and consoles

January 17, 2025 by Andrew Newton

KOEI TECMO Europe and Omega Force have announced that Dynasty Warriors: Origins is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.  This latest title in the Dynasty Warriors: Origins franchise brings a new interpretation of the traditional Three Kingdoms storyline with the most intense combat and largest armies that the franchise has seen to date. Watch the new launch trailer below to see snippets of epic scale battles in the war-torn Three Kingdoms.

With Dynasty Warriors: Origins, players will be transported to the heart of ancient China to see the chaos of the Three Kingdoms era through the eyes of a nameless hero.  From the ‘Yellow Turban Rebellion’ to the ‘Battle of Chibi’, players will fight fiercely through epic battles and make choices to restore peace and shape history. Players will fight their way through huge ranks of enemies, sending troops to their ancestors with the swing of their fists, swords and a variety of other weapons.

As this unnamed hero, travel across the game world on an epic journey and make decisions on whether to suppress rebellions or rescue government forces. On this journey players can visit locations to buy new weapons and even come across characters that are familiar to the DYNASTY WARRIORS franchise, such as Cao Cao and Liu Bei. Depending on the relationship formed with these characters, players will either get a trusted ally or a deadly foe.

Players will be able to use a variety of attacks that can increase their character’s ‘Bravery’ and enable them to use powerful attacks called ‘Arts’, which are unique to each weapon.  Master these weapons and their abilities and rank up to gain even more impressive skills. Defence is also essential and by blocking enemy attacks at the right time can unleash a powerful ‘Parry’ attack.

For those wishing to try before they buy, a free demo is available on PC and consoles that allows players to experience the thrill of defeating a massive army. Check out the trailer here…

DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.  Those who purchase before 30th January will receive the Early Purchase Bonus, ‘Early Works Soundtrack Collection’ as a bonus, featuring tracks from previous titles of the series.
