Heroes alum Masi Oka has revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he’s set to appear in Death Note, Netflix and director Adam Wingard’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s manga series.
Oka, who is also a producer on the film, will appear alongside a cast that includes Nat Wolff (Paper Towns), Margaret Qualley (The Nice Guys), Keith Stanfield (Straight Outta Compton), Paul Nakauchi (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Shea Whigham (Agent Carter) and Willem Dafoe (Justice League).
Death Note follows “a student (Wolff) who discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone simply by writing the victim’s name. A cat-and-mouse game ensues when he’s tracked by a reclusive police officer.” It is set to premiere on Netflix in 2017.
