Lionsgate has released a poster and trailer for Greedy People, the upcoming crime caper from director Potsy Ponciroli (Old Henry).
The film stars Himesh Patel as a rookie cop who accidentally kills a woman while responding to a call with his rogue partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), but after uncovering a bag containing a million dollars at the scene, the pair unwisely decide to keep the money and set up the crime scene, leading to a series of events which upends their small island town. In this darkly comedic crime thriller, rookie cop Will (Himesh Patel) and his rogue partner Terry (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) upend their small island town when they accidentally discover one million dollars at a crime scene (of their own making). After the duo unwisely decides to steal the money, the community’s quirky residents are lured into the mad dash for cash — ranging from an expectant mom (Lily James) to a masseur (Simon Rex) to a shrimp company owner (Tim Blake Nelson) — and everyone learns just how far they are willing to go for the almighty dollar.
Joining Himesh Patel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the cast are Lily James, Simon Rex, Tim Blake Nelson, Joey Lauren Adams, Uzo Aduba, Traci Lords and Jim Gaffigan.
Greedy People arrives in cinemas on August 23rd.
