Horror series Saw heading to TV?

September 14, 2014 by admin

It’s all the rage these days to turn a horror series into a TV show, following the success of the likes of Bates Motel and Hannibal, and with Scream and The Omen getting their small-screen debuts on the horizon, it looks like Saw might be joining the ranks.

While at this weekend’s annual ScareFest Horror & Paranormal Convention in Lexington, Kentucky, Dread Central caught up with Cary Elwes to talk about his work in the Saw series as Doctor Gordon. When asked if he would return to the role again Elwes said, “Oh, absolutely, but only if Saw took on another form. Like, say… a TV series”

According to Dread Central reporter Jinx, Elwes then gave a knowing smile as if to indicate something.

Elwes, who stared in the first Saw movie, has said that his agreement with the filmmakers was to feature in the final movie as a bookend to the series. Could a TV show allow for that?

Take this with a pinch of salt for now as nothing is confirmed. But the original Saw (which turns 10 years old this year if you can believe that) is being re-released in cinemas this Halloween, no doubt the people in power will be looking at the box office numbers with much interest…
