Hovercrafts arrive on Planet Nomads thanks to update 0.7.6

October 7, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Thanks to developer, Craneballs, update 0.7.6 for Planet Nomads is ready to download and brings Hovercrafts to the planet for players to create and drive.  Planet Nomads is a sci-fi sandbox survival title that takes players to an alien world and provides an expansive world for players to explore.

The addition of hovercrafts in Planet Nomads means that players now have access to a much smoother and faster mode of transport and also have an improved efficiency in water.  In order to use hovercrafts players must build hover pads which are gimbal jointed blocks that can be controlled in a similar way to wheels (see the gif below).  The hover pads will hover at around 1-4 meters and will have two modes of operation once you leave the vehicle, these are: leaves the pads (and your vehicle) hovering, and turns the pads off to allow the vehicle to touch the ground.  When hover pad blocks are submerged in water they work with extra power.

The official patch notes for update 0.7.6 of Planet Nomads are as follows:

  • Hover-Pads
  • Fixed the missing new cockpit in Survival

Let us know if you are a fan of Planet Nomads and what you think to the new hover pads.
