Those who resorted to Netflix to stream Disney classics will have to rethink their subscription choice, as Variety reports that a new licensing deal has been struck between Hulu and the House of Mouse.
The new deal grants Hulu exclusive streaming rights to Disney classics like Mulan, Pocahontas, and The Nightmare Before Christmas (all of which have now been taken off of Netflix). In total, Hulu has the rights to 56 titles, and will soon add movies like Con Air, Lilo & Stitch, Step Up, and The Princess and the Frog to their catalog.
This deal does not include new titles. Netflix – which also produces Marvel Cinematic Universe shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage – will retain its exclusive streaming rights to new Disney releases. Such recent additions have included Captain America: Civil War and The Jungle Book.
