The dream team of Michael B. Jordan and Will Smith just got their first big project together as the pair will produce and star in an upcoming sequel to 2007’s I Am Legend.
Deadline reports Warner Bros is in early development on the film, with Smith and Jordan boarding the project alongside original writer Akiva Goldsman. Plot details are still under wraps, and there’s no word on if Francis Lawrence, who directed the original, will return.
Smith confirmed this news by taking to Instagram, posting an image, and tagging Michael B. Jordan…

I Am Legend followed Robert Neville, a virologist immune to a virus that wiped out the world. We follow Neville as he attempts to survive in the isolated New York City, fight to make a cure, and hold his own against nocturnal mutants. It was the third feature film adaptation of Richard Matheson’s novel following 1964’s The Last Man on Earth and 1971’s The Omega Man. It went on to gross $585.4 million worldwide.
