IDW Entertainment developing The Devil event series for TV

January 13, 2017 by Gary Collinson

IDW Entertainment has announced that it is developing a TV adaptation of Graham Johnson’s novel The Devil: Britain’s Most Feared Underworld Taxman, which is being eyed as a limited series with Dave Dilley (Warrior) writing and executive producing. Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo also executive produces alongside Laura Holstein.

The Devil is set in Liverpool in the 1980’s, The Devil showcases the life of notorious criminal mastermind Stephen French, one of the most feared men in the criminal underworld in the UK. He earned both his nickname and a reputation amongst rival crime-lords who he would outwit and rob during the emerging drug trade of the 1980s.

“We are thrilled to be working with Ellen and Laura on The Devil,” said David Ozer. “It is such a captivating and strong character that will resonate with a global audience.”
