Imogen Poots joins Nicolas Cage in Prisoners of the Ghostland

Imogen Poots (Green Room, I Kill Giants) has signed on to star alongside Nicolas Cage in the post-apocalyptic action horror Prisoners of the Ghostland, which marks the English-language debut of Japanese director Sion Sono (Midnight Madness, Tag, Love Exposure).

Prisoners of the Ghostland will see Cage portraying the notorious criminal Hero, “who is sent to rescue an abducted girl (Poots) who has disappeared into a dark supernatural universe. They must break the evil curse that binds them and escape the mysterious revenants that rule the Ghostland, an East-meets-West vortex of beauty and violence.”

“We are thrilled to have Imogen Poots join Nicolas Cage in Prisoners of the Ghostland,” reads a statement from producers XYZ Films (Mandy). “With Sion Sono at the helm, this suspenseful film will captivate audiences with both its performances and riveting storyline. Hold on to the edges of your imagination.”

Cage has recently spoken about Prisoners of the Ghostland, stating that “it might be the wildest movie I’ve ever made, and that’s saying something… It’s just crazy. It’s way out there.”

Filming on Prisoners of the Ghostland is set to get underway in the Spring.
