After the box office disappointment of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Disney looks set to get back to business this month with the release of Pixar’s hotly-anticipated animated superhero sequel Incredibles 2.
It has already been reported that the Brad Bird-directed film is tracking a whopping $140 million domestic opening weekend, and now comes word from Fandango that the follow-up to the beloved 2004 movie is setting pre-sales records on Fandango.
Incredibles 2 is outpacing the current record-holder for animated movies, Finding Dory, as well as other superhero-related blockbusters such as Wonder Woman, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Suicide Squad.
“Fans have been waiting over a decade to see the return of Pixar’s most beloved heroic family, and those years of anticipation are leading to record-breaking advance ticket sales for Incredibles 2,” said Erik Davis, Fandango managing editor. “The film is already receiving terrific early buzz, and with summer vacation in full swing for many kids, Incredibles 2 is poised to become one of season’s biggest hits.”

In “Incredibles 2,” Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose superpowers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.
Incredibles 2 is set for release on June 15th 2018 in the U.S. and July 13th 2018 in the UK.
