Inside Out fans, brace yourself. We are taking new steps into this universe, and it’s shaping up to be as stellar as the hit new film.
“Thank you for making Inside Out 2 the number one animated film of all time,” said Pixar’s Pete Docter at D23. “If you love the film as much as we do, I’ve got some great news.”
The news? The Pixar boss reveals that Inside Out is getting a television spinoff that will push Pixar’s boundaries. The new animated series Inside Out: Dream Productions was unveiled at the convention for all things Disney.
“This is our first original series, and we wanted to do something unique and bold, unlike anything we’ve done before,” Docter said.
The series is set in a studio where Riley’s dreams are made every night — on time and on budget. Some memories need extra processing, so they are sent to Dream Productions, and when Riley falls asleep, we see the film crew making the dreams like a film set.
We’ll see Dream Productions set between the first and second installments of the movie series. Little is known about who will return from the hit films.
