Assemble Entertainment and developer TriTrie Games have announced the release of their new full-motion video (FMV) game Jessika on Nintendo Switch. With this new FMV title it’s up to players to solve the case surrounding the mysterious suicide of Jessika. A new launch trailer can be seen below.
Taking the role of a private investigator, players are hired by Jessika’s father to uncover the circumstances behind her apparent suicide. Although everything points to a textbook suicide, her father disagrees and thinks others are responsible for her untimely death. This potentially career-defining moment will have players using only their laptop to access her files and dig through an extensive digital footprint, including video clips, audio files, notes and news articles, to uncover clues as to what really happened.
Jessika has been inspired by titles such as Her Story and won the German Developer Prize in Ubisoft Blue Byte’s prestigious Newcomer Award category.
Jessika committed suicide, and it’s up to you to find out why she did what she did by prying into her digital past. What at first seems to be a job like any other quickly develops into a dark drama with twists and turns.
Jessika is available now on the Nintendo eShop for £13.49 / $14.99/ €14.99 with a limited time 20% discount.
