EJ Moreno looks at two of the year’s weakest horror films…
In the latest Flickering Myth TV video, we look at the year in horror, spotlighting some of the “worst” of 2024.
While attempting to remain positive, join critic EJ Moreno as he attempts to find the good amongst the bad in these films. First, we have Sony’s Tarot, a teen horror film filled with cliches and tropes. Following that is Renny Harlin’s The Strangers: Chapter 1 from Lionsgate, the lackluster film set to kick off a trilogy. Which is better? Can either be redeemed? Let’s discuss.

The Strangers: Chapter 1 features a cast that includes Madelaine Petsch (Riverdale), Froy Gutierrez (Teen Wolf), Rachel Shenton (All Creatures Great & Small), Ema Horvath (What Lies Below), and Gabe Basso (The Night Agent).
Based on the novel by Nicholas Adams, Tarot has been written for the screen and directed by Spenser Cohen & Anna Halberg (Blink). It stars Harriet Slater (Pennyworth), Adain Bradley (Wrong Turn), Avantika (Mean Girls), and Jacob Batalon (Spider-Man: Homecoming).
Both films are out now on PVOD.
