It looks like Paramount and director Michael Bay may have found their female lead for the fifth instalment in the Transformers franchise, with The Wrap reporting that Nickelodeon star Isabela Moner (100 Things to Do Before High School) is being eyed to join Mark Wahlberg in the cast of Transformers 5.
According to the site, Moner will play the young female lead Izabella, described as ” street-smart tomboy who grew up an orphan and was raised in foster care. She counts a small Transformer as her only friend… until she meets Wahlberg’s heroic inventor Cade Yeager.”
Transformers 5 sees Bay directing from a script by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (Iron Man) and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down). It is set for release on June 23rd 2017, and will be followed by a Bumblebee spinoff on June 8th 2018, and another as-yet-unrevealed Transformers project on June 28th 2019.
