It crosses $300 million domestically and $600 million worldwide

Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema’s acclaimed Stephen King adaptation It has already become the biggest horror movie of all time, and now it has reached another milestone at the box office, crossing the $300 million mark domestically and $600 million worldwide.

Domestically, It is only the fourth R-rated movie ever to reach the $300 million threshold after The Passion of the Christ ($370.1 million), Deadpool ($363.1 million), and American Sniper ($350.1 million). Worldwide it now sits on $604.0 million and should go on to overtake blockbusters Transformers: The Last Knight ($605.4 million) and Logan ($616.8 million) globally this week.

When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

It sees Andy Muschietti directing a cast that includes Bill Skarsgard (Hemlock Grove) as Pennywise alongside Jaeden Lieberher (St. Vincent), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Jack Dylan Grazer (Tales of Halloween), Wyatt Oleff (Guardians of the Galaxy), Chosen Jacobs (Cops and Robbers), Jeremy Ray Taylor (Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip), Owen Teague (Bloodline), Sophia Lillis (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Nicholas Hamilton (Captain Fantastic).
