It star Sophia Lillis, who played the character of Beverly Marsh in last year’s hit Stephen King adaptation, is set to take on the role of Nancy Drew in Warner Bros.’ upcoming feature Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase.
Written by Mildred Wirt Benson under the pen name Carolyn Keene and published in 1930, The Hidden Staircase was previously adapted by Warner Bros. back in 1939, with Bonita Granville as the teen sleuth.
Ellen DeGeneres, Jeff Kleeman, and Chip Diggins are serving as producers on Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase, which is expected to begin filming soon.
Lillis will next be seen alongside Amy Adams in the HBO series Sharp Objects, and is also expected to reprise the role of the young Beverly Marsh in It: Chapter Two, with Jessica Chastain in talks to portray the character as an adult.
