Where do you even begin with this story?
Over the last few years we’ve heard from Ron Pearlman and director Guillermo del Toro about a third movie in their Hellboy series. Sometimes its moving forward, sometimes its not. Sometimes Pearlman wants to do it, sometimes he doesn’t. Well, we can now officially say that it’s done and dusted. There won’t be a Hellboy 3.
Del Toro himself revealed the news via Twitter.
Hellboy 3 Sorry to report: Spoke w all parties. Must report that 100% the sequel will not happen. And that is to be the final thing about it

Last month it seemed like things were looking up when del Toro announced that after a positive Twitter poll he would speak with Pearlman to get things moving. It looks like those talks did not go well.
The first Hellboy movie was released in 2004 and earned $99 million worldwide, while its 2008 sequel earned $160 million. However both films under-performed domestically which has halted all chances of a third film getting green-lit. When he had been asked previously about the movie, del Toro noted that it could cost anywhere up to $100 million to make a third film (which was a little beyond Kickstarter), which probably didn’t help matters.
Are you sad to see Hellboy 3 is laid to rest?
