Hot off the heels of the highly successful first season of Westworld, HBO is turning once again to J.J. Abrams (who served as executive producer for the show) to shepherd a new sci-fi drama series. According to THR, the Star Wars: The Force Awakens director has been tapped to develop Glare, an hourlong drama exploring the colonization of another planet.
Not much is yet known about the project, other than a few of the roles behind-the-scenes. Abrams will develop the series under his usual Bad Robot Productions banner, using a script from Enemy and Out of the Dark scribe Javier Gullón. Ben Stephenson, the Bad Robot head of development and former BBC head of drama, will serve as executive producer.
We’ll have more news on Glare as it develops.
