Prior to the trailer being released, a Twitter trend called #BoycottStarWarsVII caught the Internet’s attention, as loud vocal complaints were being made about Star Wars: The Force Awakens being “anti-white”. The group rejected the idea that the movie had such a diverse cast, calling the film “anti-white propaganda” and that J.J. Abrams was a “Jewish activist” . Whether the group were serious or not (that’s up for debate), it did prompt director to respond via the Bad Robot Twitter account.

“We cannot wait to share the trailer with you tonight,” he wrote on a placard. “I don’t care if you’re black, white, brown, jawa, wookie, jedi or sith. I just hope you like it!”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set for release on December 17th in the UK and December 18th in the States and sees J.J.
