J.K. Simmons and Emile Hirsch to star in comedy The Runaround

May 2, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Oscar winner J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) is to co-star with Emile Hirsch (Into The Wild) in The Runaround, a new comedy from director Gavin Wiesen (The Art of Getting By) and written by Seth W. Owen (Morgan).

The film will see Simmons star as a workaholic father who has to team up with her daughter’s ex-boyfriend to try to find said daughter after she disappears. It is set to go before the camera this July in and around Los Angeles.

“The producers have assembled a top-notch cast including J.K. Simmons, who is on everyone’s wish list after wowing audiences everywhere with his Oscar-winning performance in Whiplash, and the versatile Emile Hirsch on board. The script is a wildly entertaining ride from start to finish and we can’t wait to bring this film to audiences,” said Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel, co-founders and partners of The Solution Entertainment Group.

Simmons can next be seen in this summer’s sci-fi blockbuster sequel/reboot Terminator Genisys, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke, while Hirsch’s latest, Ten Thousand Saints, recently has its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
