Jack O’Connell is looking to face vampires and now also rabid zombies, with the actor joining Danny Boyle’s 28 Years Later.
Deadline reports O’Connell is set for the film, rounding out a strong 2024. Details on the long-gestating horror sequel are still under wraps.
The actor is best known for playing the antagonist in Eden Lake and was recently cast as the villain in Ryan Coogler’s upcoming vampire movie opposite Michael B. Jordan. He can also currently be seen in the Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black.
O’Connell joins Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes, who have already signed on to star in the film.
Boyle is directing the first movie from a script by Alex Garland. A sequel is already in development, with Nia DaCosta stepping into the director’s chair. The reported plan is to film both films back-to-back.
