CBS has announced that Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction) is set to lead its CBS All Access original drama series Strange Angel, which is based upon George Pendle’s 2006 book and has David Lowery (A Ghost Story) attached to direct the pilot.
The series will follow the mysterious-yet-brilliant double life of Jack Parsons in Los Angeles during the 1940s. By day, he works as an acclaimed scientist in the then-unknown world of rocketry, but by night, he moves into a darker realm, experimenting with sex magick alongside occultist Aleister Crowley.
CBS Television Studios is producing the series alongside Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Entertainment. It is set to join CBS All Access’ growing slate of original programming, which includes Star Trek Discovery and The Good Fight.
