Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, and Ansel Elgort join crime thriller Finest Kind

February 10, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Variety is reporting that writer-director Brian Helgeland (42, Legend) has enlisted Jake Gyllenhaal (Stronger), Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver) and Zendaya (The Greatest Showman) for his new crime thriller Finest Kind.

The film follows two brothers, played by Gyllenhaal and Elgort, “who strike a dangerous deal with a crime syndicate that draws them into the Boston underworld. As pressures mount, sacrifices must be made and bonds — between brother and brother and between father and sons — put to the test.”

Finest Kind is being produced by Gyllenhaal and Riva Marker of Nine Stories, Gary Foster and Russ Krasnoff of Krasnoff/Foster Entertainment, and Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas of Imperative Entertainment. STXinternational is set to shop the project to buyers at Berlin’s European Film Market.
