Pete Davidson is heading towards another horror film after appearing in Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, and this one could be even more brutal.
Helmed by The Purge creator, James DeMonaco, Davidson will lead The Home, a new horror where a troubled man faces off with some brutal guests at a retirement home. In a recent interview, the director offers up new details on the project.
DeMonaco tells Collider that the film is “heavy horror” and sees the actor stretching himself like never before. “Not to give too much away, but it’s about him. He’s a graffiti artist. He gets in trouble with the law and his community service instead of doing jail time; he has to live and become the new super at an old age home,” DeMonaco said.
He adds, “So it’s about older generations dealing with the youth in America. Obviously, then it kicks into heavy horror and some crazy mythology about what these people are and who they are and what they’re doing in this home, how that affects the youth of America.”
The Home follows Davidson as a troubled man named Max, “who starts working at a retirement home and realizes its residents and caretakers harbor sinister secrets. As he investigates the building and its forbidden fourth floor, he starts to uncover connections to his own past and upbringing as a foster child.” DeMonaco directs the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Adam Candor.
There’s no set release date for The Home at the time of writing.
