James Franco has signed on to star in the lead role of Jake Epping in Hulu and Warner Bros. Television’s upcoming original series 11/22/63, which is based upon the Stephen King novel of the same name.
Described as “part thriller, part love story”, 11/22/63 sees high-school English teacher Epping travelling back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, but his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, his falling in love, and the past itself… which doesn’t want to be changed.
Franco will also produce the nine-hour miniseries, while Stephen King executive produces alongsdie J.J. Abrams and writer Bridget Carpenter.
