Last week, DC Universe announced that it has cancelled its live-action Swamp Thing series, just six days after the DC show premiered on the streaming service.
No reason was given for the series’ axing, and it seems that even executive producer James Wan is in the dark, with the Aquaman director stating on Instagram that he doesn’t “really know or understand” why the plug has been pulled.

The first two episodes of Swamp Thing have been well received by fans, who will no doubt be left disappointed by DC’s handling of the cancellation. Thankfully, we will still get to see the remainder of the season however, with new episodes released every Friday on DC Universe.
Swamp Thing features a cast that includes Crystal Reed (Gotham) as Abby Arcane, Andy Bean (It: Chapter Two) as Alec Holland, Will Patton (Halloween) as Avery Sutherland, Maria Sten (Channel Zero) as Liz Tremayne, Jennifer Beals (The L World) as Sheriff Lucilia Cable, Jeryl Prescott (The Walking Dead) as Madame Xanadu, Kevin Durand (The Strain) as Jason Woodrue, Virginia Madsen (American Gothic) as Maria Sunderland, Henderson Wade (Riverdale) as Matt Cable, Leonardo Nam (Westworld) as Harlan Edwards, Ian Ziering (Sharknado) as Blue Devil and Derek Mears (Friday the 13th) as Swamp Thing.
