The Conjuring and Aquaman director James Wan is teaming with John Wick screenwriter Derek Kolstad for the sci-fi feature Hunting Season, based upon a 1951 short story by writer Frank M. Robinson.
The film is described as “in the vein of 1984, Fahrenheit 451 and The Running Man” and follows “a law officer from the future who is declared an enemy of the state and sentenced to be executed by being sent to the past and stalked by a posse. The man has three days to acclimate to his new era and a find a way to survive.”

Wan is set to produce Hunting Season through his Atomic Monster production company, which has Wan’s new giallo horror movie Malignant in post production alongside The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and There’s Someone Inside Your Head. He’ll be joined by Atomic Monster’s Michael Clear, and Transformers producer Don Murphy.
