Jamie Chung is swapping the DC universe for Marvel, with the actress joining the cast of Fox’s and Marvel’s as-yet-untitled X-Men series, where she will portray the character of Clarice Fong, a.k.a. Blink. Chung has recently starred in Fox’s Batman prequel series Gotham, where she played Valerie Vale.
Blink previously appeared in X-Men: Days of Future Past (where she was played by Fan Bingbing), and her character description for the TV show reads: “A sarcastic and lively tomboy, Clarice’s naturally strong exuberance has taken a hit after a sudden and traumatic upheaval of her life. As she adjusts to the new people and places that are suddenly ‘home,’ Clarice is slowly becoming herself again.”
Chung is the second actor to be cast in the show after Blair Redford (Switched at Birth) who plays Sam, described as “the strong-headed Native American leader of the underground network.”
The X-Men pilot will be directed by Bryan Singer from a script by showrunner Matt Nix (Burn Notice), and will follow two ordinary parents who are forced to go on the run from a hostile government after discovering their children posses the X-Gene, and link up with an underground network of mutants.
