Jamie Lee Curtis to direct and star in Lifetime movie

May 11, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Jamie Lee Curtis is teaming up with Lifetime to direct, executive produce and star in a new original movie for the cable TV network.

Entitled How We Sleep at Night: The Sara Cunningham Story, the project is described as a passion project for Curtis and tells the true story of a devout Christian mother as she come sot terms with her son coming out as gay.

Curtis optioned the rights to Cunningham’s memoir last year, and Sally Robinson (Dirt) has been set to write the script, while Sony Pictures TV will produce.

Along with How We Sleep at Night, Lifetime has announced a number of other original projects including the Kelly Rowland sequel Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding, the continuation of the ‘Harry & Meghan franchise’ with Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace, Melissa Joan Hart and Mario Lopez film Feliz NaviDad, and an untitled holiday movie starring Betty White as “a sassy drill sergeant of a Christmas bootcamp”.
