Back in May, director Fede Alvarez spoke about the planned sequel to Evil Dead, denying reports that he’d left the project and stating that he’s still looking for the right idea for the follow-up to the 2013 reboot. However, with Sam Raimi working on Army of Darkness 2, as well as bringing Bruce Campbell’s Ash to the small screen for an Evil Dead TV series, it seems that star Jane Levy isn’t convinced that we’ll see a sequel to the reboot.
“I don’t think they’re gonna make it,” Levy tells Arrow in the Head. “I mean, they’re always coming up with a new thing- now I hear they’re making a TV show. I was like, what? [Laughs] I think they just like exciting their fans and confusing them. I honestly don’t know, but it doesn’t seem like there’s going to be an Evil Dead 2 anytime soon. At least, not with me in it.”
Are you disappointed by this news, or should they stick to continuing the original Ash-centric series? And would you like to see Levy’s character popping up in the TV series if they do decide against a sequel?
