Jared Leto in talks to star in Bloodshot

July 26, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Actor and musician Jared Leto is in talks to star in Sony’s Bloodshot movie.

Leto, seemingly enjoying being more involved in movies these days after an erratic earlier career, is in talks to join Bloodshot, an adaptation of the comic series from Valiant Entertainment.

The project is the second in a five picture deal between DMG and Valiant following the planned Harbinger movie, and is to be produced by Neal Moritz, and directed by Dave Wilson. Sony acquired the rights to Bloodshot back in 2012.

Leto is in talks to star as Bloodshot’s protagonist Angelo Mortalli, a ruthless killer who is set up by the mob and framed for a murder. After going into witness protection he is betrayed by the FBI and subjected to experiments, injecting him with microscopic computers – Angelo develops superhuman strength and healing powers as a result.

Sony will look to make Bloodshot into a new franchise vehicle for Leto.
