Fresh from his role as The Joker in Suicide Squad, Jared Leto has now signed on to the cast of the upcoming Blade Runner sequel, with producers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson stating that the Oscar winner will “create a truly memorable, never before seen character.”
The sequel to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic is being directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Sicario) from a script by original Blade Runner scribe Hampton Fancher and Michael Green (Green Lantern). Harrison Ford is reprising the role of Rick Deckard alongside new additions Ryan Gosling (The Nice Guys), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Carla Juri (Morris From America), Ana de Armas (Knock Knock), Dave Bautista (Spectre), Mackenzie Davis (The Martian), Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips), David Dastmalchian (Ant-Man), Hiam Abbass (Munich), Sylvia Hoeks (Tirza) and Lennie James (The Walking Dead).
The as-yet-untitled Blade Runner sequel is set for release on October 6th 2017.
