This time last year, the prospect of another Jared Leto Joker appearance seemed about as likely as The Snyder Cut of Justice League ever seeing the light of day, but incredibly we are now just a week away from both of those things, with the Oscar-winner having reprised the role of the Clown Prince of Crime during last year’s reshoots for Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Leto has offered a few words on returning as the iconic DC villain, as well as praising the vision of director Zack Snyder: “It was a secret I had to keep for so long, it feels funny to even talk about it. [Zack] knows that world like nobody else… He cares so deeply about the character. He cares so much about the fans. I was happy to be a part of his journey and retelling that story and telling it the way that he always dreamed of. And it was fun to dip my toe into the character again.”

In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad, and Darkseid, and their dreadful intentions.
