After the success of last year’s The LEGO Movie, it seems Warner Bros. is intent on getting as much mileage out of the franchise as possible, with THR reporting that Jason Segel (The Muppets) and Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) are set to write and direct a new spin-off movie entitled The Billion Brick Race.
The project is based on an original idea by Pearce, although plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being. The movie will be produced by The LEGO Movie helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, along with Dan Lin and Roy Lee.
The Billion Brick Race is the fourth LEGO movie on Warner’s upcoming slate, after LEGO Ninjago in 2016, The LEGO Batman Movie in 2017 and The LEGO Movie 2 in 2018.
