David Ayer and Jason Statham are set for a quickfire reunion with the news that they are teaming up for Levon’s Trade, an action movie which has been scripted by Sylvester Stallone.
The director/star duo have just worked on The Beekeeper, which is set for release in January 2024, and now Deadline report that they are set to bring to life Sylvester Stallone’s first screenplay since Rambo: Last Blood in 2019.
Stallone, who was Oscar-nominated for his Rocky screenplay in 1977, has adapted Levon’s Trade from the novel by author Chuck Dixon. It is the first title of eleven in the Levon Cade series of books, which Stallone’s Balboa Productions had previously hoped to adapt into a television series.
Statham will portray Levon Cade, who left his ‘profession’ behind to work construction, and just wants to live an anonymous life and be a good dad to his daughter. But when a local girl vanishes he’s asked to return to the skills that made him a mythic figure in the shadowy world of counter-terrorism.
