We’re still a couple of months away from the release of Kickboxer: Vengeance, but camereas are already rolling on a sequel to the reboot – intended as the second part of a trilogy – and Jean-Claude Van Damme is now officially on board the film, titled Kickboxer: Retaliation, having posted a video of him signing his contract on social media.

The Muscles from Brussels will be reprising his role from the upcoming reboot as Master Durand, while Alain Moussi takes on the role of Kurt Sloane, who Van Damme portrayed in the 1989 original. The duo will be joined in the sequel by Mike Tyson, who signed on back in May, and Game of Thrones star Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson.
Kickboxer: Retaliation is being directed by Dimitri Logthetis, and is slated for release in 2017. Kickboxer: Vengeance is due to hit in September, and you can watch the first teaser trailer here.
