Actor Jeff Goldblum has said that he would love to be in a Grandmaster solo movie.
With the grandness of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe and the rampant demand for more movies, there will surely be plenty of new solo MCU films for fans to enjoy in the near future.
Taking already popular characters from the franchise and shining the spotlight on them in their own film is always an option, but what about giving one of the strangest characters in the MCU his own outing?
Goldblum was tailor-made for his role in Thor: Ragnarok as the Grandmaster and during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live (via ComicBook.com), the host told Goldblum: “I would love to see the Grandmaster have a whole movie.”
“I would, too,” Goldblum responded. “I love all those guys at Marvel and Kevin Feige but the director of that, Taika Waititi, he’s a genius! He helped create Flight of the Concords. You ever see that movie that he did, all improvised? He did an all improvised movie called What We Do in the Shadows. It’s a great movie.”
And regarding whether we will see him appear in Avengers 4, the actor said: “I don’t know. Who knows. They’ve got a good imagination. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Victora Alonso over there, they know what they’re doing. They make good movies. Well, see if I could contribute anything to what they were doing. I imagine this, that my brother, the Collector played by Benicio del Toro, maybe they see us together. I don’t know. Who knows but my character can do anything. I’ve got more super powers than all of them put together.”
What do you guys think? Would a Grandmaster movie be too much? Perhaps a fun cameo in Avengers 4 would be a more realistic expectation.
