The Walking Dead will be on the air for at least another three years says sar Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
The Walking Dead might not be the pop culture hit that it once was but its still one of the biggest shows on TV, evidenced by the brand continuing to expand to spin-offs and movies.
But how long can the show keep going? Well, star Jeffrey Dean Morgan says that the series has at least another three years left on our screens. Speaking to Variety, he said:
“You don’t want to run it into the ground. Me personally, I’d say let’s go out on top. Let’s go out still being the number one show in the world. Whether or not that happens, I don’t know. I think if we just stuck with the comic book, we’ve still got another three years. We do deviate a lot, but I think there’s probably a good three years of material there.”
AMC will surely be wanting things to last a good while longer but time will only tell. Ultimately, it will be down to how long audiences continue to watch in acceptable numbers.

A few months after the end of Season 9, the collected communities are still dealing with the after effects of Alpha’s horrific display of power, reluctantly respecting the new border imposed on them, all while organizing themselves into a militia-style fighting force, preparing for a battle that may be unavoidable.
The Walking Dead season 10 premieres on October 6th in the US and on October 7th in the UK.
