An all-star cast is coming together for Dito Montiel’s new film, Riff Raff. Two recent Emmy winners, Jennifer Coolidge and Brian Cox, are set to star in the film, with Dustin Hoffman and Gabrielle Union rounding out the cast.
Riff Raff is from A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints‘ helmer Dito Montiel, with a script from John Pollono (Stronger, Small Engine Repair). The film follows “a former criminal’s ordinary life, which is thrown upside down when his old family shows up for a long-awaited reckoning.”
The all-star cast features Jennifer Coolidge, fresh off her Emmy win for The White Lotus, and Brian Cox, who is gearing up for another Emmys campaign for his work on Succession. Dustin Hoffman has quite the prolific career, winning an Oscar for Rain Man and receiving six other Academy Awards nominations. Gabrielle Union is an incredibly recognizable actress and activist – starring in hit films like Bring It On, Bad Boys 2, and playing the lead character in the BET drama series Being Mary Jane.
Producer Marc Goldberg gushes about the project: “We are thrilled to partner with the producers and Dito on this project; we’ve loved it ever since we’ve read it. It embodies the type of crime comedies we grew up with – witty and entertaining. Not to mention the perfect cast that will bring these colorful characters to life.”
Filming on Riff Raff is set to start this September.
