Adam Sandler has lured some Oscar-winning talent for his next Netflix movie, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that Jennifer Hudson has signed on for the female lead in Sandy Wexler.
The film, which is being directed by The Do-Over helmer Steven Brill, is set in the 90s and stars Sandler as Wexler, “a talent manager working in Los Angeles, who represents a group of eccentric clients on the fringes of show business. His single-minded devotion is put to the test when he falls in love with his newest client, a talented singer named Courtney Clarke (Hudson), who he discovers at an amusement park.”
Sandy Wexler will mark the third movie in Sander’s four-film deal with Netflix after The Ridiculous 6 and The Do-Over, and is scheduled to go into production in August before hitting the streaming service in 2017.
